What did NATAN need?

helen helped NATAN appeal to individual donors with a well-written and persuasive letter template that they can easily modify for specific recipients.

Why is this project important?

The Gaza Health Center is a unique project, the first of its kind, based on a 10 years commitment. Exclusively based on volunteers, it nevertheless has an important cost (medicines, logistics, transportation, insurance, etc...).We don't have governmental or foundations' grants and rely on individuals. This project will drastically improve the Gaza civilian wellbeing, impacting thousands of people. It is an absolutely non-political project.

This project will save us $2,140, allowing us to Cover the expenses of two volunteers joining the project (flight, insurance, transportation, food, and accommodations) or purchasing drugs for 3 to 4 days ( given free of charge).

I am a prize-winning reporter and an experienced writer/editor with strong commitments to social justice and sharing stories that otherwise go untold. For example, as a mentor-editor with the OpEd Project, I "coach" non-mainstream writers and others working on essays, op-eds, speeches, articles and long-form nonfiction. As someone who came to writing by a non-traditional path, I work hard to share compelling voices and stories that clarify otherwise-murky issues, write (and edit) projects that aim to create change in the status quo, and bring the voices of people otherwise media-mute into the conversation. I love my work; I get to learn every day.

What did they have to say?

Working with Helen is a unique experience. She immediately understood our organization's DNA, our needs, and the challenge of presenting a complex humanitarian approach in one heart touching and strong word. The result is far beyond our expectations. Helen has created a model that will be useful for future publications. The dialogue was fantastic and I made a new friend. So happy of this experience.
