What did Jessica have to offer?

Ensuring that basic needs are met and ample support is provided to those in need have been cornerstones of much of my professional work and my personal passions Specifically food insecurity feels like a problem that if mitigated will lead to improvements in several other corresponding problems Tackling a problem at its source is something about which I'm passionate Further food insecurity feels like a 'common sense' problem Connecting those who are food insecure with available food resources feels both logical and doable As more research is completed I'm confident that effective policies and ground-up solutions will arise. I've completed numerous research projects with similar aims. In the Fall of 2019, I independently designed and executed an in-depth literature review of national and state level policies impacting food safety, donation, and recovery. I then analyzed the impacts that these policies have on efforts to mitigate student food insecurity on college campuses. In the Spring of 2020, I completed another review of best practices as it relates to community health centers incorporating social determinants of health into their practices. Not only am I adept at completing online research but I am particularly familiar with this topic.
